»Organization

The government of this church is vested in its members who, as the congregation, exercise the right of control in all of its affairs. While this church is an autonomous body, it is associated with the Pacific Northwest Conference and the United Church of Christ at the national level.

Church Council

The Church Council acts on behalf of the congregation, and meets monthly. (The entire congregation conducts church business meetings about twice a year.) The Church Council is made up of representatives of the church's various Boards, plus various Church Council officers. The work of the Church Council includes coordination and evaluation of the overall church program, establishment of revised and new directions for the church, and long range planning.

The Council also establishes personnel practices, administers the church's property and funds, and enters into contracts on behalf of the Church.

Church Boards

The Boards of the church are usually made up of 6 - 12 people who meet on a monthly basis to carry out the purposes and priorities of the church. Some examples of Boards include the Worship and Music Board, the Facilities and Equipment Board and the Mission Board. For more information on how Boards operate, or to get information about joining a board, please refer to Lay Leadership.

Our Priorities

In 2004 the congregation engaged in a year-long discernment and planning process which resulted in the adoption of a set of priorities to guide our work together through 2009. Our church priorities address our commitment to ministries that unapologetically make real the radical message of Jesus, and help equip us to live out his teachings.
