Living our stories with Jesus
Save the dates of July 6-11, 2008 for the Seabeck Family
Camp! This year marks the 40th anniversary of Seabeck for our church and
for those of you who have been part of those years you know how special
Seabeck is.
This year’s adult program is titled “Living Our Stories
With Jesus” and will be led by Rev. Gail Crouch and Rev. Tricia Gardner. “A
name is a seed. When it germinates it becomes a story.” One way to
understand our own lives is to see them as story, full of the holy stuff of
life.
This week will be spent exploring how we go about living
our lives as followers of Jesus. How do our stories intertwine with the
Jesus story? How can the story of who Jesus is and who he calls us to be,
help shape our own life stories? Using the stories of our lives and of
scripture; poetry, music and prayer, we will explore our relationship with
the one we call Jesus.
Look for upcoming announcements in service and in
Church and Home for further details on signing up for Seabeck.

Rev. Gail Crouch
“Raised as the daughter of a minister, I became a
minister when I grew up. In my life I have been a teacher, spent time
parenting and worked with women who experienced domestic violence. I
attended seminary at Seattle University and Eden. For 15 years I was one of
the pastors at University Congregational UCC. After retirement I served
First Cong. Bellevue, UCC, and have done two stints as an interim, acting
UCC Conference Minister. Trying again to retire, I have a great passion for
time spent with my husband Ed, our grown children and three incredible
grandsons. University Congregational United Church of Christ has been held
close in my heart for over 30 years.”
Rev. Tricia Gardner
“I am a native of NC and a former art teacher. I served
in the parish for 13 years in Charlotte NC, Anderson SC, Seattle WA (at
University UCC and Alki UCC) and Nashville TN. When I entered Vanderbilt
Divinity School in Nashville, I became the University’s GLBT Coordinator for
3 years. After receiving my Master of Divinity in 2001, I completed a 1
year Chaplain Residency at Vanderbilt Medical Center. I now serve as a
Chaplain at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte NC and as a member of Holy
Covenant UCC in Charlotte.
I am the proud aunt of 6 nieces and nephews, an avid
lover of dogs and great deals at Goodwill, and a zealot for the United
Church of Christ. I am eager to be a part of Seabeck 2008.” |
