Dear Beloved Community,
Yes, this is another another pastoral letter about patience. Another letter about our hopes, our expectations, and our values. Another letter about emerging from pandemic time to “whatever comes next.”
We know that waiting is hard. We know that sifting through all the rapidly changing messages we are getting about Covid-19 right now can be frustrating. We know it has been a long year and a half.
We continue to be guided by the covenant that binds us together. We imagine how we live out our values together: we are an inclusive community, we take seriously the call to justice, we care for and pray for each other. In Covidtide, living out our values together includes following the science and looking to community health guidelines.
These values continue to be a beacon, guiding us as we make decisions about in-person church gatherings and about worshipping together in our sanctuary.? We feel like we are entering a new phase even as we discover the Delta variant requires ongoing vigilance. The work continues.
The good news is that we have come this far by faith, and God has not brought us this far to leave us. We will support each other in this part of the journey just as we have supported one another through the last 18 months. Our latest plans for emergence, grounded in our shared value and covenant, can be found on our website here.
Remember that you are in our prayers, and we carry each other in our hearts. If you are in need of specific support just now, reach out to any of us.
Blessings,
