Planning for Advent is very much in the beginning stages, and we know it has to be different this year. All of the Worship services and most of the events and activities can be reimagined, we just need willing hearts and minds to make it happen.
There are several different groups of people, both staff and volunteers, who have been thinking, brainstorming and starting to lay out how we will meet Jesus for the first time again.
Here is a date to put in your calendar, and a few activities to look forward to as well.
The first Sunday of Advent is November 29th, and we will begin with Sunday service at 10:00 am online. Then, from 1:30 – 3:30 pm, we will have our first Advent Car Parade.
During the parade, you will be able to drop off gifts for Christmas Families and Offering of Gifts, and pick up a few goodies to take home with you (see November Church and Home for more). There may even be some live music (socially distanced, of course).
Do you have ideas and energy around any of our annual Advent traditions? (Advent prayers and readings booklet, Advent Breakfast, Superfluity Christmas Sale, Advent Workshop, Christmas Families, Offering of Gifts, Singing carols in the Lounge, and who can forget the Christmas Pageant?
If you can help reimagine any of our usual activities, contact Vicki Farmer at gro.ccuytisrevinU@snoitacinummoC, and she will get you connected!
