Joy speaks through open spaces in the day—
Not enough time to do it all,
So choose what matters most
and find the courage to let the rest go.
Sleep when you are tired.
Joy speaks through open spaces in the day
Time makes its own appointments, uninvited—
So take a trip, however short,
And let the day unfold down wandering streets.
Breathe deep through Sabbath.
Travel light.
Time makes its own appointments, uninvited
Each day’s adventure is a mystery—
Look into the eyes of each person you meet.
Read the guidebooks and study the maps,
But not too closely. Listen hard for the music.
Walk a lot.
Each day’s adventure is a mystery.
All you need from home is inside you—
Share your light with those you meet along the way.
Listen hard to their stories, drink what they drink.
Order strange-sounding food from the menu.
Sleep wherever.
All you need from home is inside you.

The poem reflects the your love for travel and the way you find travel most rewarding. Good poem!
Nice! I think your poem has captured my word for last year, flaneur. It means “to wander with no purpose”. Thank you.
