As we wrap up the year, we are thankful for the work done by our many committees, staff and leadership team on our budget for 2023 as well as to all of you for making your pledges to support the future of UCUCC!
As a committee, we are continuing to delve deeply into our church assets and formulating plans for our goals in the coming year.
It is a fundamental part of our work to communicate with the congregation about our activities as well as to solicit feedback and input. As we move forward, we will have opportunities to engage with you all in this work – please keep an eye on future
announcements!
Much of our time this past month was related to budget and pledge campaign considerations and strategizing. We reflected deeply on the complexity of our funding and expenses and the interplay of historical intentions and current application of many of our resources from real estate and property holdings to endowments and other restricted funds.
The budgeting process is always complex, and this year has been made even more so by the high levels of uncertainty and resultant anxiety in our community and the wider world. However, our community continues to follow through on our commitment to justice and hope by taking bold action in our commitment to wage justice and working toward decisions about our future based on a strong understanding of our values, led by hope and love.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to any of the committee members for more in-depth conversations about our work to support our Council and the future of our church. Thank you for joining us on this journey!
