This year, UCUCC will celebrate Black History month by supporting and celebrating Black preachers and
artists.
We are excited to welcome the Rev. Dr. Yolanda Norton, Rev. Osagyefo Sekou, Rev. Bianca Davis-Lovelace, and Rev. Darrell Goodwin to our virtual pulpit this month.
Many of you may remember Rev. Dr. Yolanda Norton from her guest appearance last fall in the Lecture Series “All This Joy: All This Sorrow.” She is currently the Crump Visiting Professor and Black Religious Scholars Group Scholar-in-Residence for the 2020-2021 academic year at Seminary of the Southwest. The Rev. Osagyefo Sekou is noted activist and theologian currently the Theologian-in-Residence at Valley and Mountain Fellowship here in Seattle.
The Rev. Bianca Davis-Lovelace is an activist, public speaker and community organizer, currently the Executive Director at REACH and the Washington State Tri-Chair for the Poor People’s Campaign.
Many of you are familiar with the Rev. Darrell Goodwin as he was the founding pastor of Liberation UCC here in Seattle. He is currently the Executive Conference Minister for the Southern New England Conference UCC.
During Black History month we’ll be amplifying Black voices and honoring Black theology in many ways, including this virtual pulpit series.
