Children & Youth Program at Seabeck—a reflection
Thank you so much to our children, youth and families for participating in this year’s Seabeck Camp. It was amazing to have 30 children and youth participating! I so enjoyed seeing each little and their parents wave when we sang our “hello” name song! I loved Betsy Rose’s leadership in helping us sing together! Thank you so much to Teacher Holly for reading us stories! Thank you to the elementary children for their thoughtful questions and sharing! Thank you to our youth for their amazing discussions! The questions, the sharing, the reflection! So great! Thank you so much to our leaders! And Crafternoon was so fun to tie-dye, play with bubbles, and just play together. It was such a joy to feel the Seabeck vibe there even though we weren’t physically at camp. What a GREAT week! See you next year at camp! ~Margaret Swanson
Weekly Middle School Game Night
Wednesdays from 8:00 – 9:00 pm
The Van Dyck family continues to host weekly game nights on Wednesdays for youth in incoming 6th-8th grade. All you need to do is pull up a seat and have access to two devices. One to zoom call on (like a laptop) so you can see the game board and a second device like a smart phone, tablet or iPad to use as your game controller by going to jackbox.tv and entering our game code to play. Come every week or drop in when you can, it’s casual. Looking forward to playing together. Questions? Feel free to reach out, Amanda Van Dyck (Matthew’s mom)
firstname.lastname@example.org. The link for this goes out in our weekly emails to youth.
Apple Day at Becca McMullen’s house
July 31, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Children’s families are invited to the McMullen’s house to pick apples and make cider! This event is open to the whole family so older siblings are welcome to join too. Please plan to bring some bottles to take cider home! Bring a sack lunch, picnic blanket and maybe a lawn chair to have lunch. This is an outdoor masked event. We are limiting the amount of people to 25. Please sign up to let us know if you’re coming. Sign up to come at: https://bit.ly/AppleDay2021
Possible outdoor BBQ/movie night
We are still working out the details, but we are looking to plan an outdoor gathering for elementary and littles’ families. It might include a movie night but we are still working on the logistics. Please refer to the Children’s Ministry weekly newsletter emails for more details to come.
Communication about Children’s Ministry will come in weekly emails and on our parent Facebook groups. If you are not receiving the weekly emails about
Children’s Ministry, first check your junk mail and if they are not there, please reach out to
email@example.com and we can get you added.
If you are not on the Facebook groups we have for parents, please feel free to request to join:

Children’s Ministry Committee
There is so much good ministry and connecting opportunities happening for our children and their families. An integral part of the ministry is our Children’s
Committee who help brainstorm and plan events and support the staff in their work. If you’re interested in partnering in this work of living into our vision for Children’s & Youth Ministry, consider joining the Children’s Committee. We meet monthly, the 1st Monday of the month. Be in touch with Margaret Swanson for more info.
