November council meeting summary
November 18, 2020
YTD financial report was reviewed and discussed. Revenue for 2020 may be better than we thought, and total expenses are very close to what we were expecting.
The Payroll Protection Plan funds are still on the books as a loan. The bank has advised UCUCC to not apply for loan forgiveness yet. Overall, we are very blessed.
Pastoral Search Committee made a unanimous recommendation of Reverend Steve Jerbi as our candidate. Council members will attend a Zoom session to speak with him directly prior to the congregation meeting and vote on December 13. All were very appreciative of the time and effort dedicated to this search by members of this committee!
Seven agenda items were discussed and approved:
¨ Transfer of funds to support Gathering Ground (from the Imagine Campaign)
¨ Reaffirmation of Support for Gathering Ground
¨ 2021 Budget as proposed by the Budget Committee to be recommended to the Congregation
¨ Parking Lot C – re-designation to non-paid parking only (due to declining income and rising taxes)
¨ Transfer of additional funds to Love and Justice (from the Imagine Campaign) for ongoing justice work in 2021.
¨ Pastor Housing Allowance (for federal income tax purposes)
¨ Approve Tent City 3 – three month encampment starting March 15, 2021
