The library is tucked back in a quiet corner, but is open for browsing and hanging out before and after church every Sunday (even if the door is closed). We have a great collection of all kinds of books! We often receive donations and cannot always use them in the library, so there may also be books and magazines for you to take. If Edith or Jessie are there, come say hi! If you’re interested in helping out in the library, let us know. We are looking to reestablish a small group to keep the library going.
New in the library this month:
We have 2 books for parents or other caring adults to share with children on the topic of sex! These two interactive books by Cory Silverberg and Fiona Smyth cover many aspects of identity and development for young people in a comic book style. They are gender- and sexuality-inclusive. The first book is Sex is a Funny Word: A Book about Bodies, Feelings, and You is appropriate for ages 8-10. The second book You Know, Sex: Bodies, Gender, Puberty, and Other Things is chock full of information and is appropriate for older children/ teenagers. Thank you to Beth Bartholomew for suggesting Sex is A Funny Word for the library!
