Supporting our church through time, talent and treasure
There are many ways that each of us contributes our time and talents to the ministries of this church community in thanksgiving and response to the gifts that God has given us. Your kindness and hospitality, your prayers, your presence in the pews and online, your volunteer hours, your voice lifted in song. Each card you write, each time you show up to advocate for justice, each time we study and learn, celebrate and grieve, and each time we have fun together — we create the church.
Our treasure—the financial resources that keep the lights on, the building open and the staff and clergy working from day to day—is also important. Because of the financial support of members and friends, the ministries and missions of this congregation are thriving! Thank you for considering financial support for the work of our church. We believe that giving as a spiritual practice is extremely valuable and will grow your sense of belonging, integrity, and connection to the good work this church is doing. We rely on your participation, no matter what size your financial gift, and together we make it possible to be the church God is calling us to be.
Our 2023 Pledge Campaign theme is “Ubuntu: I Am Because We Are.” For more on our Pledge Campaign, click here.
Giving Record
You can view your giving record on-line at any time through MyUCUCC, We also send a quarterly giving record to all those who pledge or give regularly. This provides a record of the gifts you have given, and it gives us a chance to say thank you!
Here are some of your options for giving:
Offering time in online and in-person worship
As a community that worships both in-person and online, there are many opportunities to give to the church’s ministry, in thanksgiving and response to the gifts that God has given us, and as part of your regular spiritual practice of giving. You can give during in-person worship on Sunday mornings. You can write a check to UCUCC and mail it to the office, or drop it off during our office hours. You can also contribute cash; if you enclose the cash in an envelope with your name on it, your gift will be noted in your giving record. If you are participating in digital worship, you might wish to give online or write a check each week during the Offering Time in our online worship. You can also set up a secure online gift or pledge online through your MyUCUCC account.
If you would like a green offering envelope, we can arrange for some to be sent to you. These envelopes are for your own convenience (we don’t need your gift to come in an green offering envelope for us to accept it!) Click here to request giving envelopes.
Every month the Love and Justice Ministry chooses an organization to be the beneficiary of a special offering. Learn more about special offerings in the What’s up now section.
On-line Giving
You can give on-line through our secure donation web site, operated by ACS Technologies, the provider of our church’s datatbase software. Give on-line.
Automatic Deductions
This is a reliable, safe way to conveniently put your stewardship plan into action. Because your gift is given consistently, there’s no need to play “catch-up” at year-end or worry about forgotten checkbooks or missed Sunday offerings. You can set up automatic deductions through the MyUCUCC portal. Click on the MyUCUCC button in the sidebar. Email bookkeeper@universityucc.org if you would like us to help you with this. Please consider connecting your bank account to our secure online server, to help us avoid paying fees associated with processing online credit card payments.
US Mail
We are also glad to accept checks by mail throughout the week. Just make the check payable to UCUCC and mail to the church at 4515 16th Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98105-4201. Due to the pandemic, the processing of checks may be delayed between 3-4 weeks. Thank you for your patience!
Planned Giving
Planned giving enables you to perpetuate your financial support for the church beyond your lifetimes. You can give a gift that keeps on giving long after you are gone. We are glad to talk further with you about how you can remember the church in ways that might help you now, and what to include in your will to accomplish what you want. Contact Kyna Shilling to talk further.
Stock Donations
We are glad to accept donations of publicly traded securities. Because gifts of stock made to UCUCC can give donors a double tax benefit, whether sold at a gain or loss, many consider giving such gifts.
