One thing that Kirk and I are noticing about living into this time of so many losses, is that grief is right on the surface. It doesn’t take much for either of us to begin to shed tears.
All of us have been subjected to so many losses during this Covid time –
- · loss of connection with loved ones
- · loss of ease of travel
- · loss of normal routines
- · loss of a feeling of community
- · loss of the ability to celebrate important life passages in person
You may think of other losses. Name them and hold them as sacred. Step into them. Sit with them. Breathe into them. Hold them in prayer. Then, bless yourself with the following words:
May I touch my pain with tenderness.
May I find strength for my journey.
May I find hope and healing.
May I and all beings learn from and transform our sorrow.
May I find inner peace.
